METALSHIPS & DOCKS, S.A.U. is a private shipyard located in the Vigo estuary, in Galicia, founded in 1986 by Manuel Rodríguez. It has two divisions, one for new construction and other repairs, plus a dock for fishing vessels. In new construction ships made of fishing, passenger ferries, but vessels mainly offshore, which is a world reference. Among its customers are multinationals Technip and McDermott. The North Sea Giant, built for North Sea Shipping, received the vessel support of the Year award from the prestigious Offshore Support Journal.

In repairs, it carried out more than a thousand jobs for companies all over the world and vessels of all types. This division successfully carries out everything from the simplest repairs to the most complex tasks such as renewal of propulsion equipment, installation of new main or auxiliary engines, machinery work, etc..

Lifting equipment:

3 mobile cranes: 140, 56 and 25 tons.

4 gantry cranes of 25 tons.

Two other five-tonne cranes.

Floating docks: of 5,000 and 10,000 tonnes of lifting power for vessels of 127.6 and 162 metres in length and 22.5 and 28.5 metres inside beam.

Slipways: 1 x covered slipway for the construction of vessels up to 160 m in length and 36 m in beam.

Docks: 740 metres of docks with a draft of up to 9 metres.

Others: 80,000 square metres, including 21,000 square metres of covered area for workshops, warehouses and offices. The equipment is completed by several indoor overhead cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 3 to 50 tonnes. The yard also has a 250-tonne Kamag transporter.
