Industrias Ferri S.A. was founded in 1964 by Ricardo Fernández Villar, a senior marine mechanic and captain. After years on fishing boats, he decided to set up a workshop in the basement of his father's house to develop improved or new products, the origin of what is now FERRI.

In these 50 years, FERRI has specialised in the manufacture of equipment for all types of vessels, meeting stringent performance and reliability requirements, consolidating its reputation as a manufacturer of high quality and innovative products. During the 1970s, their growth and experience enabled them to meet the growing demand for deck equipment and auxiliary machinery. In 1984, FERRI entered the ornamental mining machinery industry.
