SMART CRANE II. Investigation and development of an intelligent and predictive system for assurance of aerial cargo movements with overhead cranes in outdoor industrial spaces
Execution dates: May 2023 - April 2024
Budget: 257.867,00 €
The Smart Crane II project – Research and development of an intelligent and predictive system for securing the movements of aerial loads using overhead cranes in outdoor industrial spaces – involves research into the applied use and technological development of artificial vision systems capable of providing intelligence and predictive capabilities to overhead cranes used in open industrial environments. The aim is to prevent human and material accidents.
After the first fase of the project, the consortium will generate new technical-scientific knowledge that will allow for designing and development of a prototype (not marketable) liable for being used in intermediate tests and final validation trials in the pertinent environments. The implementation of this prototype for overhead cranes not constructed under 4.0 Industry standards, will allow their conversion towards intelligent machinery capable of manipulating cargo at heights automatically.
Digitisation of documentation associated with production processes for the automotive sector in Galicia aims to optimise the industrial processes of companies in the Galician automotive sector by means of sector-specific parameterisation, implementation, and testing of a platform for the digitisation of plant documentation through electronic forms. The goal is to become a zero-paper factory, increasing accessibility, traceability, and functionality through the use of voice instruction and real-time information consultation.
