Freire Shipyard
Shipyards
FREIRE SHIPYARD was founded in 1895 by Mr. Paulino Freire, and since then it has been dedicated to the construction of ships of all types, both for the domestic and foreign markets. The company is privately owned, and its shareholders are still 100% owned by the Freire family.
In the early days, the shipyard built wooden hulls to its own designs, including its own patented propulsion and auxiliary steam equipment.
At present, it is still dedicated to the construction of all types of ships, with steel hulls up to 155 metres in length; another very important activity is major repairs, a field in which it enjoys great experience and professionalism.
